Summer Arts Camps
Grades 6th - 12th
Campers will explore the world of Manga and learn about different styles ranging from Kodomomuke to Shonen and Shoju. Campers will then plan and draw their own anime characters using pencil, ink and oil-based markers. The week will culminate in the creation of an introductory portfolio of their works which they will share with their peers.

The Art of Needlework
This one-week creative camp will provide an inspirational, relaxing and safe space for young artists to develop their skills in needlework. Campers will focus on two challenge projects in embroidery and crochet. Project options range from the creation of cute animal friends to framed works ready to be displayed.

Songwriting: Poetry, Lyrics and Verse
This camp offers a unique opportunity for young artists to develop their songwriting chops by focusing on the writing aspect of the process. The campers will be led by a trained teacher who will guide young artists towards the completion of their own song lyrics and verse. The process begins with an analysis of the works of famous songwriters ranging from modern talents such as Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and OneRepublic to classic artists such as Stevie Wonder and Joni Mitchell. Campers will embark on a design thinking process of inspiration seeking, brainstorming, free writing, empathizing, editing and the eventual sharing of their works with their classmates – and, if they feel so bold, with their family and friends. Throughout the week- long experience, campers will explore the beautiful Saint Mary’s Campus and engage in writing exercises in a variety of inspirational settings.
